A report reaching us this morning stated that the Non Teaching Staff Unions of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (Fuoye) under the aegis of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non -Academic Staff Union (NASU) and National Association of Academic Technologists(NAT) embarked on an INDEFINITE Strike which commenced today 9th January 2017 even after a week warning strike last year November.
According to our correspondent who interviewed some of the non teaching Staffs (names unknown), they stated that "The school management as refused to pay up the above stated Union Accrued Allowances for the past years and payment of other beneficial demands meant for the workers " which were not stated to our correspondent.
This led to little uproar in both campuses (Oye & Ikole) where all staffs and students were chased out of lecture rooms and school premises this morning, putting all activities to halt.
The strike is posed INDEFINITE till the School management meets all their demands and petitions.
We hope the management will come to a clear agreement with the workers so as to avoid delay in academic activities.
